The deluxe double room offered a splendid view and was spacious. Our evening meal featured standout dishes like stilton & broccoli soup, which was superbly crafted.

While it felt spacious and generally clean, there were neglected corners that could use more thorough cleaning attention. The bathroom’s extraction fans didn't quite do their job, leading to a slightly off-putting experience. I had a lovely view of some chickens in the garden, but it was overshadowed by the unkempt appearance that needed weeding, which detracted from the overall charm.

Had a fab time here with my partner! The village is just beautiful and super chill. Staff were really friendly, just like in the reviews. Dinner in the bar area was spot on – the food's always awesome. Only thing is parking can get tight when it's busy. We'll be back for sure!

During my stay, I loved the quick access to the nearby Askham Hall Gardens and Cafe, just a few steps away, and enjoyed a warm and comfortable atmosphere throughout my visit that made my city strolls even more pleasant.

The room was super comfy with a huge, cozy bed. Plenty of space and the en-suite was really impressive. The decor feels fresh and welcoming, which made it even better. Loved how everything was clean and well-kept.

I recently spent a night in a Standard Twin Room and was thoroughly impressed by the welcoming staff who made sure I felt right at home. The breakfast served was both generous and delicious, a true highlight of my stay, fueling me for a day of exploring the nearby Lake District. The setup of the room above the bar gave a charming ambiance, and although the bar noise faded early, it added to the cozy atmosphere. The only downside was the lack of an evening meal option during my late arrival. an advance notice of dining hours would be helpful.
